Hello, Penny Forward community! As the sun rises on a brand-new year, we’re thrilled to share our excitement and ambitious plans for the journey ahead. 2024 is poised to be a groundbreaking year for us, and we can’t wait to dive into the challenges and triumphs that lie in store.
Reflecting on the past year, we stand in awe of the incredible support we received from over a hundred dedicated individuals. With your backing, we unveiled our first strategic plan last October, setting the stage for an extraordinary future. Our goals may seem lofty, but the key to conquering the seemingly impossible lies in our shared commitment and belief that together, we can make a significant impact.
Mission-driven Goals
Our strategic plan revolves around three core pillars: Reputable Education, Programs, and Offerings; Strong Brand and Communications; and Long-term Growth and Success. These are not just lofty aspirations; they are the roadmap guiding us toward a future where financial education is accessible to every member of the blind community.
Community-Driven Action Teams
To turn these goals into reality, we are excited to launch three community-driven action teams: Content, Communications, and Operations. Each team plays a crucial role in shaping the narrative of Penny Forward and ensuring our impact is felt far and wide.
Content Action Team
Join us in shaping the future of financial education for the blind community. Help us choose the most relevant topics and delivery methods, whether through text/Braille, audio, or video.
Communications Action Team
Be a part of the force that connects us with the blind community, educators, donors, and volunteers. Your voice will amplify our message and make it resonate powerfully.
Operations Action Team
Contribute to the growth and sustainability of Penny Forward. Help us define staffing plans and fundraising goals, paving the way for our budget to grow from $150,000 in 2024 to an inspiring $500,000 in 2026.
Stepping into a Bright Future
As a testament to our unwavering belief in success, I am thrilled to announce that I’ll be stepping into the role of Penny Forward’s CEO on a full-time basis. This is a commitment fueled by confidence in our ability to achieve the extraordinary.
Expanding Horizons
In the coming year, we plan to reach out to agencies for the blind across all 50 states, enhance our digital presence for a seamless user experience, and explore innovative technologies like interactive voice response with Amazon Alexa. Our goal is to reach every individual who can benefit from our programs, regardless of their technological preferences.

Mentoring and Partnerships
We’re excited about mentoring more blind accredited financial counselor candidates and building partnerships with organizations that share our vision of affordable and accessible financial education for the blind community.
