The American Council of the blind and National Federation of the blind both hold national conventions every year in mid summer, and both conventions are a great place to network with other blind people who may have similar interests. They’re also a great place to find job, business, and volunteer opportunities. One of the people who found a volunteer opportunity like no other at the ACB national convention is Janet Dickelman. We invited Janet on to tell us about her very interesting life and career, how she ended up becoming ACB’s volunteer convention coordinator, and what happens at convention from the perspective of those who attend and those who work behind the scenes.
