Overview

In this course, you will gain a fundamental understanding of budgeting and banking basics, and learn how to manage your personal finances effectively. You will learn the skills necessary to track your spending, make a budget, and review and adjust your budget as your financial situation changes. The course will cover the basics of banking and the different types of financial institutions, including banks and credit unions. You will also learn about the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), which ensure that your money is safe in the event of bank failure. The course will also provide a comprehensive overview of checking and savings accounts, and how they differ. You will learn how to open, manage, and use these accounts to your advantage. Finally, the course will cover the benefits of online and mobile banking, and how they can help you manage your money more efficiently. You will learn about the different features and services available, and how to use them effectively. Throughout the course, you will be provided with practical tools and techniques to help you apply what you have learned in real-life scenarios. You will be encouraged to reflect on your own financial goals, and develop a personalized plan for achieving them. By the end of this course, you will have the knowledge and skills necessary to take control of your personal finances and make informed decisions about your money. This course is divided into several modules:

  • A pretest to help us understand what you already know
  • A series of short lessons and quizzes that will walk you through important concepts
  • A final exam you must pass before completing the course

Most lessons contain a short quiz on the same page as the lesson itself. You’ll need to pass all quizzes, and the final exam, before completing the course.
