Simplifying Investing: A Getting Started Guide

Please join us for this week’s members-only group chat, where we’ll present part two of our four-part series on investing. Investing is complex, but we aim to break it down into simple concepts and steps you can use to get started growing your money.

Last week we explained the differences and similarities among stocks, bonds, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, and real estate investments. This week we’ll explain how to open an investment account and how to use it to buy and sell stocks, bonds, exchange-traded funds, mutual funds, and some real estate investments.

Keeping track of your investments is key to understanding whether your money is growing, though, and while nobody loves taxes, you need to understand where to find the information you need to accurately complete your tax return. We’ll talk through what you need and demonstrate how to get it from your financial institution.

And, as always, we’ll talk about the financial news of the day and leave time to talk about anything you have on your mind.
